I really ought to write something about the sorry state of modern spirituality.

Oh! Oh! Oh!

Somebody needs to do a 'hell house' where hell is populated by evil-hearted fundamentalists who spent their lifetimes being openly cruel, and signing God's name to it!

The lowest level, would be for televangelists....

.....but maybe we shouldn't talk about that. I'm getting too much of a kick out of the idea right now....

We'd like to see it start out as maybe a youtube thing, and then grow into a real haunted-house deal on Halloween.

But we wouldn't want it to scare kids. We'd want it to scare Christians who are assholes.

(BTW, congratulations on not having been exposed to televangelists. You certainly haven't missed anything to be desired there, in my opinion.)

So, did your parents feel that TV wasn't good for kids, was that the reason you (yes, very fortunately) grew up somewhere besides in front of a TV screen - ?
(I ask as I sit in front of a computer screen. Thank you, Lige, for pointing out the irony.)

We recently met a two year old grand daughter of a friend, who was using a Blackberry. The child can't quite pronounce her own name yet, but she's using a Blackberry.
We're actually quite concerned now about when we get grandchildren....do we need to make sure they have access to a Blackberry, or make sure they have access to a distraction *from* the damn thing....?
(Their mothers will probably not be stay-at-home moms, so we're kind of hoping to be the stay-at-home gramma.)
Any thoughts about this - ?
