It's just a little one. I'm not keeping up with a drawing every day, but it's still more art than I was doing before. I think I'm going to be reclaiming life slowly, in and around all the remaining paperwork, and even the fun chores like installing shelves and organizing storage.

We're still unpacking boxes. I've built myself a desk now, of two masonite boards which I'd once meant to cut up and prime for paintings. They're braced across stacks of boxes. I could still use them for paintings in the distant future when I get a proper desk. There are a lot of things on the agenda first, like a mattress, and maybe a washer and dryer, because the laundromat is a pretty long walk away.

Meanwhile, have a few sketches.

Hahaha, also yay for cold weather clothing in the drawings. What is the weather like there lately?

The snow's been hanging on all throughout March. It'll mostly melt, except for the big piles in parking lots, and then there'll be a cold night and it'll come down again, but be gone by the end of the day. I think now that it's April it'll start seeming more like spring. A few of the trees are coming into bud. It's been really windy. Stormy and overcast, though not a lot of rain. I'm not sure when we'll start seeing flowers. The crocuses should have come by now, if anybody had planted any.

Bit by bit we're making the house nicer! There's a long way to go but it's been great because Shashigai's committed to it too. We're going to make a nice sensory space. I bought a hanging lamp with a lampshade made from bits of red and orange glass welded together. Now I just have to figure out how to put it up, because it's the kind that expects to be wired into the house's electrical system. We can't do that, but Shashigai says he knows how to rig it, run a wire along the top of one of the beams, and hook it to an extension cord and a portable switch.

Yeah! It's slowing getting better and better. We got out to the mall yesterday and bought a mattress. It's not going to be delivered until the 21st unfortunately, but I think we'll sleep better when we don't have to use the airbed. The neighbours will be relieved too I'm sure, because the pump to top it off every couple days is very loud, and I never remember to use it until late at night.

We stopped by a discount furniture outlet as well and had a look at the different styles. Everything's more expensive in Canada but I want to save up for a couch and Shashigai wants to get a reclining chair. I'm hoping to get a couch with a pull-out bed so that we can have guests.

Shashigai's been working really hard to clean and unpack boxes, and maybe in a couple weeks we'll have enough space in the living room to think about getting furniture.
