All I can is WOW! This is one of the reasons I love LJ so much. Through my LJ flist, I encounter situations that I wouldn't have, and get access to insights that I can't have in any other way. As a 55 y.o. white woman, there are so many things that I just don't 'get' because it's not my experience. The older I get, the more I learn to keep my mouth shut and my heart-ears open. Thank you for this post. And right, Hillerman never claimed to be Navajo.
