WikiLeaks
Is anybody else following what's been happening?
It's like forum drama on a global scale, redefining the question of how much information it's good to expose, in a world where technology has made it feasible to distribute damning data en masse. Instead of the case-by-case question of how much can be released, the power dynamics are becoming redefined as a case-by-case question of how to stand out in a clamoring crowd. It links back to the problems plaguing first-time authors in the publishing field and questions of mass media control of public opinion.
Here's one article (Yahoo News via London) but there are many many more.
Edit: Another, New York Times
Where is the United Nations?

Interesting points about the correlation with the publishing field. I did wonder why they released so many all at once, but then maybe we would be totally bored with it if they came out once a day or week or whatever.
Not sure how I feel about it all up either!

I don't know anything about Rudd (or Gillard) but I was happy to see him stand up for his own. Also, the UN is finally declaring a position.
They actually didn't release a huge number compared to what they have. (I believe it's 3000 of 200,000?)

Mum said last night "who would have thought world war three would be an internet war?" Lol, she was only half-joking. I tell you what the stopping of ways to get them money makes me more inclined rather than less inclined to donate to Wikileaks.
It is totally fascinating, isn't it? It is getting bigger than Ben Hur.
