Is anybody else following what's been happening?

It's like forum drama on a global scale, redefining the question of how much information it's good to expose, in a world where technology has made it feasible to distribute damning data en masse. Instead of the case-by-case question of how much can be released, the power dynamics are becoming redefined as a case-by-case question of how to stand out in a clamoring crowd. It links back to the problems plaguing first-time authors in the publishing field and questions of mass media control of public opinion.

Here's one article (Yahoo News via London) but there are many many more.

Edit: Another, New York Times

Where is the United Nations?

We've been following it. Not sure how we feel about it - pretty torn about whether or not it's good or bad.

The diplomats and others forgot the first rule of junior high: If you don't want it read, never write it down. And if you do write something, be sure your name isn't attached to it. Use code or something. All these things coming out are unsurprising. Anyone who's ever watched The West Wing knows that governments always have secret deals behind closed doors.

Normally we are in favor of everything coming out but aren't sure if this should have been. It is petty, but it is the kind of thing They will use as an excuse to shut down free discourse on the internet.

What we are really interested in is the references to UFOs. It's probably just "Ambassador Petrie still believes in UFOs" or something, but we still want to see it.

Yeah, we are. That is a good definition - forum drama on a mass scale!

Interesting points about the correlation with the publishing field. I did wonder why they released so many all at once, but then maybe we would be totally bored with it if they came out once a day or week or whatever.

Not sure how I feel about it all up either!

I guess people in political power shouldn't do/say stupid and condemning stuff.

I didn't mean to take so long in replying to your question about my book, I still am hammering away at some of it... by way of beginning an answer ... how familiar are you with Genesis of the monotheistic bibles?
