Cave Study

Catching up on art.

This is the one I'm most proud of that I did over the holidays. A study from Mammoth Cave.

A stylized digital painting of a large cave chamber, looking down from above on a ledge, towards a winding path through boulders and rubble. Across the other side of the chamber, the path leads to a mysterious dark opening.

That is REALLY nice. Love all the colors you got into it, and the glowy lighting. :D

That definitely looks like Mammoth Cave. But where is the light coming from and why is it at different angles and colors?

... oh wait, I think they had spotlights there, some caves do. Spotlights? I hope nobody was throwing glowlights.

*laugh* Well, it's pretty.

Some caves do use spotlights, though, including colored ones. So if that's something you're into ...

This is a pretty typical use of spotlights to pinpoint areas of interest:

Really cool orange-green contrast here:

Okay, this one went a bit overboard:

A fun science trick uses multicolored lights to make multicolored shadows.
