very cool! Extra-love the sabre-tooth tiger. Well I presume that's what it is?

:) I'm not sure. It was smaller than it looks, about two feet high. The display case was turned towards an area that people weren't allowed into that day, so I couldn't see around to read the tag.

Oh that sounds like a baby sabre-tooth! Actually I have no idea. So were they bones or casts of bones?

I'm not sure. That would be awesome if it was a sabre-tooth kitten! I want to try making a copy of it and drawing the skin and fur over top to see what it might have looked like.

oooh that would be kewl. You know some people make whole careers out of trying to work out what the creature might have looked like, from all the available evidence! Great job eh?

I think I would have wanted to use more imagination than was required of a scientific illustrator. :P But I have thought it would be fun to do the artist's interpretations of planets and other space phenomena. And I love whenever someone does a facial structure model from ancient skulls.
