I don't like Jacob Two-Two either. The cartoon is sick because it teaches all the wrong things. It teaches you how to be trodden on for your whole life. After you said it was exemplary Jewish, I thought that's why Jews have been downtrodden all throughout history, because they've made oppression into part of their cultural and religious identity.

And I'm sorry I didn't thank you too. You've been really nice to me when I'm being stupid and the shiny blue paper and a bunch of other kinds are because of you. And I hope you find some colors you like for your comic. I don't think you're going to be able to use the prismacolors or other markers for backgrounds without getting streaks. You said something about watercolor, does that mean that's what you're going to try next?
I'm actually fried in both body and mind so I am taking a break from developing the IRL comic. I have two comics from the Interstitial Journal - one is in progress and the other is on Pixton.
It's on black foam core board, I think 1/4" thick. I'm going to do the Ua one on tan.
There's five people but I'm probably doing three boards. One for Teiranen (Daria), one for Ua (Lin) and one for Ak-shamalim (Pyraxis). Celesty's probably not going to have one. There are two other places, Tapolith and Dekan, that are shared places. I think shashigai(Wolf) is doing Tapolith. He got some paper yesterday.
It's a collage of magazine cutouts and textured paper and origami paper and stuff that's supposed to evoke a particular atmosphere. It's most common in fashion design, but animators and game developers use them sometimes, too, in order to figure out the art direction for a project. The idea here is to do one for each character/place, so this is for Daria's home in Teiranen, which is a cave village.
Do a google image search for moodboard and you can find some really cool ones.
It's just that they look created rather than found. Dada is just a fancy term for collage, and when you draw on your collage it changes the entire thing.
I'm well aware that it was a movement beyond any one medium, and stand corrected/vindicated; I meant, in a roundabout way, that collage is likewise a respectable term for DaDa.
I actually really like the figures drawn on this, but possibly it helps that I know more of the background about what this is of, so it seems like a coherent whole moodboard instead of a collage with things drawn on it that's supposed to stand as art alone without the story.
