You don't have to scan for grammar, I'm not prepping this for publication at the moment. I really appreciate all the other stuff, though. You wrote a ton, that was very cool. :)
There have been a couple times with the novel shashigai and I are co-writing, that we showed people passages in present tense, and they got so caught up in hating the present tense that they totally missed the story. It was good to know that it was such a barrier to accessibility, but it was also annoying as fuck because it was so audience-dependent. More literary audiences have been open to it, it's just the die-hard fantasy genre fans that couldn't deal.
