*Blinks back in* Huh? Oh...I'm sorry. I just blinked over there for a cup of tea. I was getting out of sorts, and they have this...eh, you'll understand when you get there. Dekan's this town outside of Tapolith, where I used to live. That's where the so called undesirables live, but Tapolith is a trade town full of rich people and snobs, so that makes even a person like me undesirable. They're much nicer in Dekan. You don't need any currency; you can walk in someplace and offer to do chores for your room and fare. Dekan's full of kids that got kicked out of Tapolith for one reason or another, and they get adopted into households, or just run in the streets. They like fighting over in Dekan - they call it sparring, and its mostly good natured unless the Tap are involved. The Tap are the police of Tapolith. They like going over to Dekan to challenge folks, and they pretty often get beaten, so they keep coming back. Its fun to watch, and afterwards everyone goes for a mug of tea. I guess you can't drink tea, but I bet Basquis Yup could get you a battery or two. He runs the Tizzy - the biggest inn in Dekan. He does well enough that he serves the tea for free. You have to buy the ale and food, but if you tell him Gillian sent you, he'll put your first meal on his account. It's relaxed over there - they take any arguments out back, where there's a sparring place. There is some odd stuff, like one of the serving girls has a pet crocodile. But its a good place to relax, and you can stay overnight in the rooms upstairs. They won't care if you look odd - they've seen everything over in Dekan. I'll go with you, if you like, and show you the sights. http://community.livejournal.com/dekantown/804.html?view=1572#t1572
