The sea!!!

A funny mix of familiar and unfamiliar. But how beautiful a place.

Mostly the last pic is familiar, the look of the vegetation and palms is overall very similar to what we get just beyond the sand dunes off the beach. Like a ... like kinda transition place between the dunes and beach, to the more normal savannah woodland beyond.

The palms - the really tall ones in the other photos are different. More like you find in Northern Queensland.

There is a lot of vegetation that is common to tropical coastal areas around the world, if the seeds can float. Learned that from Kite!

Yeah! It's pretty cool actually, to think that some of the plants I love so much in Australia can be found around the world. I happen to know you guys have beach bean, which I have in my garden!

ok, so the transition bit is the same there too. But ours is ... prickly. There are some extremely prickly vines *meep* and shrubs lol. And it was coming through that transition stage from the billabong where they were searching for pigs, through to the beach, that Weaver got covered in Greenants. She had a choice of walking through the prickly vine or a greenant nest. She chose the greenants!

The shells...the top ones you have there are more like what we'd be used to finding in Tasmania, but the rest of them are pretty similar to ones here.

We'll have to take a photo of some for you. Teo_kitten would love that too :-)

She meant I had a choice of ***trying*** to scramble through the vines, or trying to duck under the ants nest. The vines were so close to the nest I would have ended up getting them all over me anyway when I struggled with the thorns.

Yeah it was an adventure!

Spiders eh? Sounds really kewl. I love spiders. But not walking through a nest of them unless I know they aren't poisonous thanks!

I know of two people been bitten by a spider and gotten really ill. One never really recovered his health poor dude. The other one was Eddy. He had to go to hospital. So he was always really scared of them ever since.

Haha me again!

Ah, yeah I don't know the names either, but Kite does. And we know that coz that one is in our garden. She got some creeper roots (its a vine with very pretty purple flowers) from the beach. Naughty girl! That is a nature reserve! But they grow sooooo much I don't think she was causing environmental damage.

Yes yes going back sounds good. Take us to! *dreams*

Oh no! The poor tree. Gotta find it under the vines so it can grow again. Isn't it magical that it is regrowing! Sucks to the stupid gardener.
